Summary :Before they were NBA superstars, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson led their universities to the 1979 college National Championship game. Indiana State and Michigan State battled in the tiny Special Events Center on the campus of the University of Utah. An epic battle of stars with strong supporting casts unfolded, with Johnson’s Spartans taking the title. This film examines how each player helped their team advance to the championship game, and looks at the lasting impact of their legacy on college and pro hoops. Includes interviews with Larry Bird, Pat Riley, Jud Heathcote and Gregory Kelser among others. Combines rare archival footage with contemporary interviews.
